**Distributive Property. **The Distributive Property tool can be used to demonstrate that a product that is unknown can be decomposed into two known products. Students use multiple models to show how a product can be shown in two parts, each part corresponding to values shown in parenthesis in an equation, e.g., 6 x 7 = (6 x 5) + (6 x 2). The tool allows the transition from models to numbers only.
